The papers of Mr. Valle consist of several letters of April 1976 between Mr. Valle and Emil Mazey, Secretary-Treasurer of the UAW in which Mr. Valle differs markedly with statements made by Mr. Mazey in a speech relating to United States policy in Viet Nam.

Abstract
The Fred Valle Collection contains correspondence documenting the debate between United Auto Workers (UAW) Secretary-Treasurer Emil Mazey and Mr. Valle over the United States policy on Vietnam.

Acquisition
The papers of Fred Valle were placed in the Archives of Labor and Urban Affairs in August of 1975 by Jim Coppess. Additional papers were placed in the Archives by Mr. Coppess in August of 1987 and were opened for research in March of 1989.
Transfers
An oral history interview with Mr. Valle, dated February 1975, dealing with the Briggs strike of 1933 is in the oral history collection of the Archives of Labor and Urban Affairs.
