These papers are the collection of Cecil C. Roeder, who served as a committeeman of UAW Delco-Remy Local 662, in Anderson, Indiana, in the late 1930s and early 1940s. Subjects include the General Motors Sit-Down Strike at Anderson (1937); UAW factionalism including the Homer Martin controversy; elections and factionalism of Local 662; union shop drives of Local 662; civil rights campaigns; and the General Motors Strike in 1945 to 1946.
