History

Monsignor Clement Kern was a Roman Catholic priest who came to Michigan after studying in Mexico. He found himself at Most Holy Trinity Church in the heart of Detroit's Corktown district. Kern served at Holy Trinity as assistant pastor for six years and as pastor for 28 years. During his time at Holy Trinity Msgr. Kern worked to emphasize the importance of human dignity and to demonstrate that everyone, in the eyes of God, is equal.

Under the leadership of Father Kern, Holy Trinity became a major center for Latino American residents of southwest Detroit. During his work in Detroit, Kern became active in the migratory labor arena and helped with the Michigan Committee to Aid Farm Workers.

Monsignor Clement Kern was a Roman Catholic Priest at Most Holy Trinity Church in Detroit, MI for 34 years.
